The Dubois County Fire Trainer’s Association will again be presenting the courses for Firefighter certification this year. The course has a start date of 1 June 2015. The weekly class schedule will be Monday and Thursday nights beginning at 1830 (6:30 pm) hours Eastern Time. Some Saturday sessions will be necessary. The classroom sessions will be held this year at the Huntingburg Fire Station One located at 501 E. First St. in Huntingburg.
This year’s course will be conducted under the State’s Modular System and using the Fire Engineering curriculum. Upon successful completion, students will hold certification in Technical Rescue Awareness, Hazmat Awareness & Operations, and Firefighter I/II. The new Modular System promises to be much simpler for the students to test on. Students will be tested on smaller portions of the curriculum as opposed to the entire course at its conclusion. All students will be required to have a copy of the Fire Engineering handbook for Firefighter I/II Indiana Edition for the course. All students must have their PSID number prior to the start of the course.
This year’s course will be limited to the first twenty-four (24) registered students! If you have further questions regarding the course, please contact one of the individuals listed below.
