Course Description:

The purpose of the Airport Firefighter course is to provide experienced firefighters with the knowledge and skills to meet the minimum job performance requirements as outlined in NFPA 1003.  Candidates must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to function safely and effectively on emergency scenes and be able to perform the tasks assigned as an airport firefighter.

Course Description:

The Phase 1 system is essentially a laboratory, where fire behavior can be observed from a vantage point three feet below the fire floor. It is designed to help increase knowledge of fire behavior, increase recognition of the warning signs of flashover. The Phase 1 system helps to increase recognition of the warning signs of flashover. Furthermore it reinforces the proper use and limitations of PPE as well as application of methods for testing and cooling the environment to delay flashover. The Phase 1 system is an excellent, knowledge based training environment, providing firefighters with firsthand experience in a controlled setting.

Course Description:

The Phase 2 class builds on the principles learned in the Phase 1 System. The Phase 2 class System should be considered a working environment for the firefighters.

In the Phase 2 System the students are now at the same level of the fire floor an take a more active role in recognizing fire conditions. Students will utilize their hose

line and nozzle patterns to check the environment, control fire gases while advancing a hose line, and ventilate fire gases through hydraulic ventilation methods.

This is a requested class all across the country, and it is FREE to you.  Class will run from 08:30 to 1700.
